Traxsource Top 100 Soulful House Releases 2011
Well this is interesting, the Traxsource Top 100 Soulful House Releases of 2011. I am assuming that these are based on sales. There are some great tracks here and you can actually buy the lot for $174.99 (that's around £110 in my money)
For you youngsters out there - you've never had it so easy! Such a cheap price for so many good tracks, the equivalent of a full record box for us old school vinyl DJs. I am not affiliated with Traxsource in any way but have to give them some credit for the great job they do of providing all the new quality house releases.
I must say I am a little surprised at the top few here but of course we'll all have our opinions on this one! Furthermore these [I think] are based on sales so we can hardly get into a heated debate with the whole world what my favourite is for 2011.
If I had to pick one soulful house release this year above all else...this is tough....mmm...I think it would be Kenny Dope feat Josh Milan - Stay With Me (Kenny Dope Main Mix)
This track has incredible Kenny Dope beats and I love the heartfelt vocals and keyboard sounds. The lyrics [on paper] are as generic as they come, and it is shows/proves that with top notch production and the way that Josh Milan delivers the vocals that it is possible to inject so much soul and life into these. (Reminds me of one of my favourite films, Man On Fire with the man Denzel Washington - done before screenplay but with expert acting and film production we get a near masterpiece)
I must apologise for not updating this site as regularly as I might this year! I am looking to transfer this onto a more flexible content management system but have just not made the time. Ben's Soulful House Mixes 21 & 22
Ok, as Rakim said 'it's been a long time' I am back with two new soulful house mixes, these are long overdue. The last time I put any compilations together was Feb 2010...The music has gone a lot deeper I feel...good quality soulful house releases are few and far between, but still exist - in my opinion. The first mix is more on the deep side (21) however the second one is much more soulful. These mixes will be ready and uplaoaded to here:

Superb.
