Michael Jackson is dead apparently, or just died? Is this true? The biggest name in pop music dead? Michael Jackson is undoubtedly one of the biggest icons from my generation, this is my JFK!! I suppose we all have to go sometime and if I could die like Michael Jackson from producing a back catalogue such as his then maybe I could rest easy. If the Micheal Jackson death stories are to be believed then I have to say Rest In Peace to yet another black musician who gave so much to the world. And while I'm at it, RIP Minnie Riperton, Barry White, Marvin Gaye..

Just looking at Google Analytics from January-June 2009. This site has had visits from 113 countries/territories around the world now! As you can see the US and United Kingdom have the most followed by South Africa. Any of the countries/territories in white have yet to visit! Defintely one of the tunes of the year for me, Nathan Adams & Zepherin Saint with the amazing 'Circles'. These are the remixes by legendary Peven Everett and also one by Zepherin Saint, the original producer. I personally don't think the original can be bettered and that certainly seems to be the case here. Seems like the ingredients that made the first killer cut of 'Circles' have been stripped out on these remixes...Make your own mind up of course! I've also included the original vocal mix...

This is soulful house music with a dark bassline and moody chords and it sounds better and better on each listen.. Another track that was out during my hiatus from buying house music..I have no issue with sleeping as long I can wake up to gems like this..

3 Amigos Opera House (3 Amigos Club Mix) (May 2009)

So this is the '3 Amigos', the collective consists of Jellybean, Marlon D and Mena Keys. Of course the beats are tight with excellent percussion; as can be expected. The twist here is that they've used an opera vocal on the top of this...I have a feeling that this will grow on me, or I'll hear it in a club one night and realise how good it is..Mixed feelings at the moment..

Gramophonedzie Why Don't You/Street Lady (April 2009)

Well, I do have a section entitled 'Funky'. This is where this will be going..Gramophonedzie have used a 1930s type jazz sample and cut it up to produce a tune that's full of energy and a little different. These are ok every now and again, couldn't stomach them on a regular basis. Not much gone into the beats etc but you know what, I like it. Pretty much a throw back to the early 2000s when funky house was on the agenda.

ADDED - The 'Why Don't You' sample is from Lil' Green's 1941 track 'Why Don't You Do Right' in case anyone was wondering, there is an audio sample below..
